My Personal Story:

After a visit to my Doctor (Dr. Krista Kozacki at HopeHealth) in 2013 I was diagnosed with high blood pressure.  I had been feeling sluggish and had no energy.  I had gained a lot of weight over the last few years, I was the biggest I've ever been.  I had to make the decision to change my eating habits and to begin exercising on a regular basis.  I was determined to lose weight and get healthy!

The Plan:

 

In 2013 I found my passion for running.  I'm not a strong runner, I'm not the fastest runner, I'll never be one of the top runners but I don't care.  I love to run!  At first it was hard and I took lots of breaks and would get frustrated that I couldn't run very far.  I kept going and slowly my endurance began to build.  Running makes me happy and feel good about myself.  I like the feeling of accomplishment after completing a 5K or 10K race.

My sister and I started this personal goal to become healthier and run together.  We both completed our first half marathon together last February at the Disney Princess half marathon in Disney World.

 

In 2013 I was only able to fit in six races in my schedule.  The races helped me to stay focused on my training for the half marathon and always gave me something to continue to strive for.  In 2014 I was only able to complete seven races and one of those was a half marathon.

My fitness goal for 2015 is to stay fit and healthy and run more races.  I would like to sign up for one half marathon this year. The only one I have signed up for so far is the Frozen 5K in Disney World in February.
